Project COMPANION Holiday Donation Drive benefiting local shelter pets

It is getting, “Texas Cold” out there, and the stray pet population at local pounds need warm hearts. Local animal advocacy group, Project COMPANION, is asking the community for new or gently used blankets or towels, dog and cat food to benefit shelter pets during the colder months. With the help of kind citizens, Project COMPANION raised 470 lbs. of pet food and over 130 blankets at last year’s drive. The haul was split between the County and City Pet Holding Facilities.
Project COMPANION urges citizens to take action against animal cruelty
Project COMPANION is urging the community to speak out after an act of violence toward a small dog ended in the animal’s death.
Earlier this week, a man shot Lizbeth Gonzalez’s pet Chihuahua Daisey in the abdomen. Daisey died later that night due to her injuries.
Project COMPANION Hosts SNAP Mobile Clinic
The Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) Mobile Clinic of San Antonio visited Eagle Pass due to the efforts of local animal advocacy group, Project COMPANION. SNAP is a statewide organization that provides low cost spay and neuter services with the ultimate mission of preventing the suffering and death of cats and dogs due to overpopulation and preventable diseases, especially in low-income areas.
